Traveling with someone can make you learn a lot about them. Just because you get a long on the daily does not mean you will be adequate travel partners.
That’s because trips cost money and are to be remembered so if you are not with the right travel partner your trip can end up disappointing and not up to par. You need to make sure your travel partner has the same expectations of the trip that you do so the trip is exactly what you had imagined.
Before selecting a travel partner, ask yourself these 5 questions:
#1 Are You Both Night Owls or Morning Peeps?
Make that clear before the trip. That way, you can adjust your timetables and maybe compromise doing some morning hikes followed by some late night club events too.
#2 Do you have the same interests?
If your travel partner is a history buff and you like innovation you should probably make that clear before traveling. Maybe one of you can play guide, or maybe you can compromise on which tours are worth paying for and which aren’t.
# 3 Are you type A or Go with the Flow?
Would you rather plan out every day of the trip, or are you okay with flying by the seat of your pants? There is always room for both; just discuss how you like to do things before taking off.
# 4 Are You a Foodie or Do you Keep it Clean at All Times?
If your travel partner wants to explore the wondrous foods that the city you are living in has to offer and you care more about hiking Mount Everest, maybe you should make sure you interests can at least be compromised before embarking on your next adventure.
# 5 Are you a loner or do you crave the buddy system?
Would you rather plan out every day of the trip, or are you okay with flying by the seat of your pants? There is always room for both; just discuss how you like to do things before taking off.
Now you can enjoy the trip you have always imagined and maybe even see things that you didn’t even know existed.
