Yesterday was a very special day … My mother’s birthday! I just wanted to take a moment to write to her and give you a an example of how hard-work, consistency, and dedication really pays off!
My mom turned 53 and she looks AMAZING…. I know that a lot of people might feel the need to say this because its their mom but she really looks unbelievable.
Throughout her life health and fitness has always been a top priority.
I remember from the time I was little, going to the gym with my mom, or on a hike, and making very healthy decisions.
She is so inspiring. Her dedication and constant desire to get better is enthralling and contagious to many that she comes in contact with; including me!
When she was 43 she gave birth to my sister (yes we are 21 years apart)…. having a baby at 43 and working as a high level exec could really be a recipe for excuse pie … but she didn’t let it.
She knew that she had to be a shining example for her girls and never let her age effect her physical capabilities.
When we started our CrossFit gym in 2009, I remember sending her workouts via email and she would complete them and email or text me her time. Anytime we had a weight loss challenge she would participate even from 2000 miles away. She was committed and tenacious and her results showed!
She has always made her health and fitness a priority which has made her vivacious and full of life with a no excuse mentality!
She could have let “age”, “injuries”, or life in general get in her way but she never did and will continue to press on and get better!
She is doing things that people half her age could not accomplish, she even has a torn acl and meniscus in her knee and continues to press on and kick butt!
My mom also just completed her final Pilates certification, and is now an instructor! She is such a wonderful example of how age is a state of mind, and age can’t and won’t limit you from anything!
Thank you for being my number one inspiration and leading me on my path of fitness! If you had not instilled this in me, I would not be here writing to all of you today!
Happy Birthday Mom, may your day be as great as you are!
Your Daughter…..
