Have you ever done a 30 day “All In” Challenge? It can be anything from meditation to nutrition, to workout etc.. It is a usually a disciplined 30 day plan to really find out your triggers, your habits, help nagging injuries, a nutritional reset, calm your stress and to figure out why you tick the way you do.
It can be a really positive approach and with a community and friends behind you helping you, pushing you, and cheering you on, it can be an even more amazing eye opening experience. I have actually done a variety of challenges and I noticed with everyone I completed one I felt empowered and healthier overall. It was the simple things that led to the feeling of overall big accomplishments. So why did I not keep going after the “challenge” was over?
I love participating in challenges and being a part of things (which is why the group is so valuable to me), and when I felt that I was on a “lone ship” and had no resources “What was the reason to keep going?” I believe life is about ebbs and flows; seasons. We go through changes and at some points in our lives we need certain focus’s and sometimes we don’t.
With each challenge you want to take the essentials and not continue to be “perfect” and build off of that. For instance, Say you do a 30 day meditation challenge. Each day for 30 days you meditate. When the challenge is done, it does not mean that you have to mediate everyday or throw in the towel. It means, if you do it on a consistent basis it will better your life overall long-term.
It would work the same with nutrition. We are not meant to eat “perfect”. In fact the joke that there is a reason they don’t call the “Whole 30” the “Whole 365”. We take the information that we learn from each challenge and then apply it to everyday life in a “balanced” “healthy” way. If we now know what foods are harming us, it is probably best we avoid them most of the time.
Look at the challenges as a way to grow, prosper, and learn more about yourself and your capabilities. Do not look at it as a way to beat yourself up, and focus on the perfection. It is in the growth and small journey that will lead you to your many success’s in life!
