I talked about the “Why” we are bored on Monday …
But how do we avoid boredom?
Here are some helpful tips and tricks to get out of your rut and onto your purpose!
1. Figure out what it is you want to do – Boredom often masks a problem where you want to do a particular activity but something is preventing you. So when you figure out your “truth” and your “purpose”, distraction and boredom is less common.
2. Don’t procrastinate – Procrastination can cause boredom if there aren’t any distractions available to take your mind off your task
3. Socialize – Boredom can often disguise a lack of social energy.
4. Create a to do list – Being Productive and keeping you on task, will lead to boredom distraction. So make a list of 5 things or less and stay accomplished and successful and your boredom will dwindle.
5. Meditate and Journal – Meditation is where we can literally train our minds to be less reactive and to make smarter decisions every day hence leading to a “Bored Free” environment. For journaling, Open up a notebook or journal and just start writing your thoughts. This works similarly to meditation, although it is a bit more active and keeps you busier to lead to less “boredom” on the brain!
Now that you have the tools, train your brain to eliminate the word “Bored” from you Vocab!
