Nothing is more refreshing and delicious on a hot summer morning than an iced coffee. Too bad it is loaded with sugar, unusable calories, and added chemicals that are harmful to our health. So what if we want a treat, but want to maintain our healthy lifestyle as well?
Have no fear Fit Chic is coming to your rescue with this delicious treat! It tastes delicious and is very simple to make too.
Ingredients
Cold brewed coffee
2 tablespoons caramel (see recipe below)
unsweetened vanilla cashew/almond milk
Ice
Directions:
Fill a glass with ice. Pour in coffee until it’s a little less than 3/4 of the way full.
Pour in milk leaving about an inch for the caramel.
Stir in caramel..
Caramel Sauce:
1 14 oz can of full fat coconut milk (chilled)
3 tablespoons raw honey
1 tablespoon of maple syrup (grade B)
¼ cup coconut palm sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
½ teaspoon coarse sea salt
1 tablespoon grass-fed butter (room temperature)
Directions:
Combine the coconut milk, maple syrup, honey and coconut palm sugar in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat.
Bring to a boil, then turn heat down so it doesn’t boil over, and boil until thick and dark in color reduce heat and whisk frequently whisking frequently
Turn off heat and whisk in the vanilla, salt, and butter until smooth.
