As I was watching the super bowl, and viewing the most elite athletes in the world my mind started to wander….
What makes these athletes tick? Do they get nervous? What is really going on through their minds as their cleats touch the field?
All their hard work, dedication, and drive has gotten them to this pinnacle or level of attainment that they have dreamed about since playing pop warner.
What goes on in these players heads before, during, and after the game?
I know as an athlete I have an array of thoughts that I can drum up is the NFL thinking the same things?
Here are some of the thoughts that go on in my head during workouts:
“I can I will I must”
“Don’t put it down”
“3…2….1… Pick it up”
“I did 29 of the 30 reps just get one more”
” I really love this song”
” What do I have to do after this”?
“breath”
I know most of us can relate to this while working out ….
Do you think the NFL athletes are going through the same mental battles we are? Are we all on the same page as athletes? and if so why are these athletes ” So Elite” ?
I realized that if I come in to a workout with an approach of gratitude and thankfulness that I am able to move and I am going to do the best that I can today, my workouts are much more beneficial.
If I can tune out the negative noise and keep your mental focus positive and inspiring you will notice you will not only feel much better throughout your workouts you will have a much healthier positive outlook for even showing up to the gym.
I believe that is why the best athletes are the best, they obviously put in the hard work and dedication day in and day out, but they always filter their brain with positive, motivating, aspirations for themselves and their accomplishments.
