Yoga is typically thought of as a way to stretch, get into your zen, and find inner peace
But what if those are not any of your goals…..
For me personally I wanted to do yoga because I was sick and tired of being injured but I was hesitant because in the past Yoga had not made even break a sweat.
I wanted to find a good compromise, where I could feel the yoga benefits, yet still have a kick butt workout!
Well I found this through Yoga Hop, I felt this style was created more as a yoga for athletes and I love it!
Not only were my injuries feeling better, I was gaining tremendous strength and flexibility just by committing myself to once a week.
I started to wonder if yoga was benefitting me so much in these areas, what other benefits did Yoga have?
So here are my top ten benefits from a Yoga Fit Class…..
1. Stress Relief – Yoga aids in relaxation which enables your cortisol levels to decrease.
2. Increased Strength and Conditioning – Especially from a flow yoga or yoga sculpt class.
3. Weight Loss and Weight Management – Any physical movement is beneficial for weight loss, but yoga in particular lowers your cortisol which aids in weight loss.
4. Improved Circulation – Yoga helps lower blood pressure and pulse rates, which allows for more efficient blood flow throughout your body.
5. Improved Sleep – Lower levels of cortisol. pulse, and blood pressure all help you get your ZZZs!
6. Body Detoxification – Flow and especially hot yoga really help you sweat out all those impurities in your body!
7. Improved Hormone Balance and Disease Prevention – Yoga especially helps conditions like cancer, infertility, and pre and post natal conditions.
8. Increased Energy – Anytime you get your blood flowing and release your endorphins you are guaranteed to have that extra boost to get you through your day!
9. Arthritis, Body Aches, and Overall Pain Relief – Stretching helps relieve the tension in your joints and muscles from the daily stress of all that we put our body through.
10. Better Breathing Habits – Yoga really focuses on breathing techniques and breathing awareness. It will help increase lung function and set off your body’s relaxation response.
