This past weekend we hosted our first Seminar at CPMFITness (the gym my husband and I own). I have traveled to many different seminars from all different areas of fitness and this by far topped the cake!
Power Monkey Fitness took the weekend to lead, teach, and inspire us in the fundamentals of weightlifting and gymnastics movement.
I am 5 months pregnant, so at first I was not looking forward to “participating” with the baby bump, but boy did I have it ALL wrong!
First, we had a room full of our coaches and students and it was on our home turf. Every seminar I had attended previously I had to travel for. It was so comfortable being in my own house with people around me that I honor and respect (including the instructors) so much!
This seminar had the perfect combination of good learning tools, fun, and some amazing knowledge from two of the best in their field. We did everything from handstand work, muscle up progressions, squatting, snatching, jerks, cleans (barbell movements) and learned the skills and drills to make the movements the most beneficial they can be for your body and your sport!
I came out of the weekend with so much confidence, knowledge, and growth. The one thing that really stood out to me was the guys repeatedly explaining how this was about training for technique for the highest level not just the standard or to do it to do it!
When we are working out, really finding the reasons why not just doing it to do it. I guarantee when taking this approach you will have far better outcomes physically, mentally, and for long-term body health.
So I challenge you fit ones, to look at your training and really evaluate what it is your doing, why your doing it, and what you need to make it even better for you overall!
