I bet we can all remember exactly where we were, what time it was, and the feeling you had the moment you heard.
I was living in Fullerton California going to college. My mom was living and working in New York City. My aunt called me (a few times), to let me know what had happened. As I was still in a bit of a fog from just waking up, I turned on the t.v. to see what exactly had happened. The fear I felt knowing my mom was there and I could not get a hold of her was a fear I will never forget!
I soon found out she was ok … I started to reflect on how courageous people where that day. I also felt sick to think people can be that evil in the world!
Over the next few weeks, you could not go anywhere without hearing of the horrific event that took place September 11th … and even after hearing it, it still didn’t seem real!
Now 16 years later … It still seems surreal. As the monumental moments where shown today …I am still amazed at the bravery, honor, and dedication to our country.
My husband and I recently went to the 9/11 Memorial Museum in New York and it was so incredible to watch how much our country came together in this horrific time and did what ever it took to make the situation better ! If you have not gone, I would highly recommend it!
Take time to remember those who fight for your freedom every day. The heroes who lost their lives for our country, and for the 2,977 innocent people that lost their lives that day!
