The Fitness World is a Multi Billion Dollar industry, and with that money comes a lot of options. Information overwhelm is discouraging and defeating sometimes. So turn that frown upside down and “Keep It Simple Stupid” With these simple tips you will not over think it and you will stay on the path of success, and it will fun, enjoyable, and results driven!
#1 Do What You Love – If you hate running why are you trying to force yourself to run everyday? If your workout is torturous, you are going to end up finding a way to avoid it. The good news is, you have so many different fitness regimes to choose from, even in your own home with apps like “Daily Burn” “Yoga Glo” Running Apps, etc … just pick your poison, break a sweat, and HAVE FUN!
#2 Get Up and Move Everyday: Don’t over think movement. You can simple wake up every morning and go for a walk on an empty stomach for 45 minutes with light weight (put on a backpack and throw a couple books in there) and it is a great fat burning tool. Maybe go for a bike ride, do a morning yoga flow, or even a 10 to 20 minute AMRAP of 5 pushups, 10 sit-ups, 15 squats. Now you will have a great start to your day!
#3 Don’t Make “Time” an excuse – We all have 24 hours in a day, and we are all “Busy”. Instead of focusing on how “Busy” you are start making your health a priority! When you pre set your workouts and treat them like a meeting or appointment, they are more apt to get done! For example, go to bed an hour earlier so you can wake up an hour earlier. Pack your lunch and use your lunch break to head to the gym. My mom was a single mom and would take me to the gym with her 3-4 times a week after work. (hence the name “Fit Chic). Make Your Healht a priority. By working out you reduce stress, sleep better, eat healthier, and feel more alert throughout the day! Preplan your week on Sunday and don’t let anything get in your way!
#4 What Motivates You – We all have “Goals”, from weightloss, to feeling better, sleeping more etc … But sometimes it takes a bit of soul-searching to really figure out what exactly it is we want. If you could have a changed lifestyle what would it look like? Would you eat better, work less, get to the gym on a consistent basis etc … Change is a big step, but the rewards are so great! You have to get your “Super” Why and then you you won’t allow distraction, laziness, or emotion get in your way! If you’re doing it because you should, not because you want to, the chances of success aren’t that great.
