The perfect prescription for a relaxing weekend is allowing your brain and body can recharge. After a busy work week, the last thing you need to do is load your schedule full to the brim. Of course, weekend is a relative term. If your weekend does not fall on a Saturday or Sunday treat your “weekend” just like it was.
Here are some great habits to make your weekend feel relaxing and productive all in one.
1. Set a specific end time for work.
Set an end time to your Friday, and be very disciplined about not working over. Now you will have a deadline to “Weekend Lift Off”.
2. Don’t Leave Anything Hanging Over Your Head:
Anything unfinished on Friday will likely annoy you all through the weekend. You don’t have to finish all your work but you do want to address any issues that will leave you stressed out over the weekend. Create a week in review and finish any loose ends that way you can feel like you have a fresh start come Monday.
3. Start with a Friends and Family Fun:
Food and festivities are life’s greatest pleasures. Look forward to your weekend with having family and friends time, whether it be game night, happy hour, or dinner. Do something that will start your weekend with a smile on your face.
5. Plan some Alone Time
Without the pressure of work and people, the weekend is a perfect time to focus on you. You can self reflect, meditate, exercise, go to the spa, shop etc…. Do something that helps make you a calm and feel good about you. Then you will feel fresh and rejuvenated come Monday!
Happy Friday!
