Ingredients
3-3.5lbs apples ( I used honey crisps from the apple orchard)
water 3/4 full in a big pot
a container of cinnamon sticks
*optional maple whiskey and apple liquor
Directions:
Fill up a big pot with water about 3/4 of the way full. Place on stove and heat on high till water is rapidly boiling.
Cut apples with an apple slicer ( you can leave the skin on ) and then once the water is boiling toss apples in the large pot.
Next place cinnamon sticks and continue to let boil for 1 hour to 90 minutes. ( you might need to turn the strove down to medium – high). Be sure to keep an eye on the stove so the apples don’t boil over.
Use a ladle and pour the cider with apples in a large mug.
*For an adult version add a shot of maple whiskey and 1 ounce of apple liquor to your mug!
This is good for 2 weeks in the fridge just reheat in a small saucepan on the stove and serve.
Enjoy!
