There is so much information out there. If you go to your local bookstore and check out the “Healthy Living” Section you see shelf after shelf of bounded books that all contain different (some contradicting) information.
So what books do we choose when wanting to create a healthier lifestyle?
Here is a list of five books that have changed my outlook on my overall health and wellness.
They are very informative but fun reads all at the same time.
They explain the why and the what of the information they are providing too.
#1 The Paleo Solution – By Robb Wolf
This book has great insight on the why’s that having a traditional American Diet is detrimental to our health and our nation as whole. Robb has helped readers understand just how critical diet and sleep can be to your overall health and wellness, and why neolithic days makes sense!
#2 The Paleoista – Author Nell Stephenson has a very light – hearted humorous approach from a woman’s perspective on living as a modern day cave woman! There are great recipes, advice on living healthy as a working woman, and guides on “the perfect Kitchen Makeover”, and a “Healthy Grocery Store Trip” to keep you on a the road to being a Paleoista!
#3 It Starts With Food – By Dallas and Melissa Hartwig
This book has a great combination on the science behind the foods we eat that is broken down to be understood by for the folks who are not “science” savvy. This book has a well balanced, sustainable plan to change the way you eat and view food forever. It will transform your life in unexpected ways.
I have personally attended their seminar and I took life lessons that have really made me and my clients feel incredible!
#4 Wheat Belly – by: William Davis M.D.
This book talks about the adverse side effects over 100 million americans are facing due to the foods they are ingesting. Dr. Davis performed a study with over 2000 individuals and the results will leave you astounded. It makes you realize the impact of what we put in our mouth really has on our health and our quality of life!
#5 Cooking Fit – A Fit Chic LA’s Guide to Healthy Eating
I should have made this #1. This is my own personal cookbook that I wrote per the past two years. It is a compilation of over 40 recipes that are gluten-free and still taste amazing! I have Celiac’s Disease so I felt left out from social gatherings, dinners, dates etc.. all because I could not eat what most were eating. I created this book to make people who are living a healthier lifestyle not have to feel like they are being restricted from anything their friends are having. It has been so fun creating this book and I know it is a great compliment to the other 4 on this list.
Knowledge is power Fit ones. My husband always uses a great quote that I am going to pass on …
“If you are not where you want to be in life whether it be diet, nutrition, overall health, wealth, career etc.. it is because you don’t know enough about it yet.”
The more we educate ourselves the more knowledge we will have to keep us focused on the goal.
