Why do our muscles cramp after a workout, or in the middle of the night, or when we are simply sitting at our desks?
Is it something we have injured?
Lack of something in our diet?
Or both??
Here are some reasons that maybe causing those muscles to get tight and unbearably painful:
*Poor blood circulation in the legs
*Overexertion of the calf muscles while exercising
*Insufficient stretching before exercise
*Exercising in the heat
*Muscle fatigue
*Dehydration
*Magnesium and/or potassium deficiency
*Calcium deficiency
*Malfunctioning nerves, which could be caused by a problem such as a spinal cord injury or pinched nerve in the neck or back
When dealing with muscle cramps there are several things you can do to help ease them, such as massaging, stretching, warming the muscle, taking a bath with Epsom salt, and stretching properly before and after workouts.
