The more I sit down with my clients the more I realize the simplicity of why they are not reaching their full potential. I hear things from “I don’t know what to eat” (not true), “I don’t have time to eat healthy”, It’s too expensive etc…
These are the comments that we tell ourselves because we are too afraid of failing, or stepping out of comfort zone, or just plan lazy to change.
When meeting with clients I like to hear what they feel is stopping them and then teach them how to overcome that obstacle (usually very easily). Just remember there is always someone out there who has it harder than you and they are doing it…
SO WHY NOT YOU?
Step #1 – CLEAN OUT YOUR PANTRY – If it is not in the house 9 out of 10 times you won’t eat it!
Step #2 – Pre Plan the night before – Look at your schedule and find a day that works best for you (mine is sunday) and plan out your week of meals. You can crock pot, barbecue, or roast but the more you prepare the less you derail from your goals.
Step #3 – Money – Now that I incorporate a paleo lifestyle I actual save $. I wrote two blogs on how to save money on Paleo here is the blog so check it out.
Step #4 – Have a plan to follow – If you don’t have goals, check points, accountability etc.. how do you expect to be the best you can be. Write out your ideal situation and also be aware of what makes you tick. When you get angry to you reach for cookies? Do you not eat all day and then gorge at night?? Find out your current routine and begin to incorporate small changes each week until eventually you have become that person you have always knew you could be.
Step #5 – Take 1 minute before reaching for your food – Most of us are creatures of habit. We don’t really want the bag of chips, but it is easy to grab plop down on the coach and before you know the whole bag is gone. So take 1 minute before grabbing and ask yourself “Do I really want this, or am I really even hungry”, when you think about it most of the time you don’t really want that “bad” food it is just an “easy” fix.
Take these five steps fit ones and use these not excuses and you will be hitting your goals in no time!
