Today I am going to say goodbye to a friend who is very near and dear to my heart! She is the friend that you can go months without speaking to but the minute you catch up it seems like no time at all has gone by.
I met her in 2005 at a restaurant that we both worked at. I immediately fell in love! She has such a kindred spirit, a laugh and smile that will light up a room, and a personality that will attract anyone!
At the time we met she was a singer who was playing local venues, working on a second demo, and writing and producing her own work. I remember when my then boyfriend now husband and I went to see her for the first time, and he and I were blown away at what a natural she was; she was born to do this.
Over the past few years she let her dreams take a backseat to her responsibilities. She was now to busy to write, or had other commitments in life that were persuading her to She let her excuses start to take over her passion.
Then last year she finally realized….
she needed to “spread her wings and fly”…. She was sick and tired of being sick and tired and wasn’t going to settle for the current position she was in.
So she developed a plan to really make her passion become a reality, and within a month plans were set and she was on her way to pursuing her dream!
I remember when she told me in late April that she was going to make this leap, and I couldn’t have been more happy for her. So many people in life want to fulfill their passion but let their fears get in the way and never “take the leap”.
There is an infamous saying “what would you do if you were not afraid”?, but it really rings true in this particular situation. If she didn’t believe in herself enough she would be stuck in the same rut. But instead she chose to spread her wings and take opportunity by the horns and charge for it!
We are so proud of you Ryan and can’t wait to see all of the amazing adventures that are in store for you!
