I recently made this dessert for a Paleo Party that I attended. It was a huge hit and was devoured in the way that cave men and women should!
This recipe is the perfect mother’s day addition as well!
Ingredients:
4 Gala or Granny Smith Apples, peeled and small diced (1/4″x1″)
1 T. coconut flour or shredded coconut
3 tablespoons of raw almond butter
1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
1 tsp pumpkin spice
1/2 tsp. Ground Nutmeg
1/4 tsp. Ground Ginger
1/4 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
Dash of Sea Salt
Crisp Topping:
2 T. Coconut Oil, melted
3/4 C. Almond Flour
1/4 cup of grassfed vanilla whey protein powder
Handful of glazed pecans, ground
1/4 C. Sliced Almonds
1/4C. Dried, Shredded, Unsweetened Coconut
1 T. Pure Maple Syrup
1/4 cup of honey
1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon Dash of Sea Salt
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Toss together all apple ingredients, in a bowl, and then place in an 8×8 baking dish.
- In a food processor mix pecans, almonds, and coconut until competely ground then mix in a bowl with the remaining ingredients (except the honey).
- Evenly distribute the mixture on top of the apples.
- Top with honey
- Bake for 30 minutes, until apples are soft and topping is golden brown.
- Serve
