This past weekend I attended the my first ever Destination Fitness Weekend. I was invited by my close friend who was running this weekend Kenny Kane. Kenny is a renowned trainer and has trained at many CrossFits all around the world as well as a very extensive Martial Arts and Fitness Background.
I had made plans for this weekend to go to Vegas, but when I looked at the opportunity I decided it would be much more beneficial for me and my personal growth to focus on wellness instead of my poker game :]
I decided to take a trip with ten wonderful people and really come together as a team and as individuals and push yourself to the next level. I really had no idea what was in store for the weekend. All I knew is that we were going to stay at the UFC Legacy John Hackelman’s House (owner of the PIT/UFC Coach). And we would be doing 4-5 workouts in different environments in unique situations.
So I brought my sleeping bag some workout clothes said a little prayer and headed to Arroyo Grande CA. (about 3 hours north of LA).
I had no expectation, nor any idea what was in store for me, but I was excited for whatever challenge was ahead!
The weekend turned out to be a HUGE success! We had every element that I could have asked for, from Karaoke to kick butt workouts and a whole lot of FUN!
We had many laughs and really proved to ourselves physically and mentally that we had what it took to take it to the next level!
It was such a great experience and I suggest that everyone talk a step out of their comfort zone and try something new.
Thank you to all the wonderful people who shared in this weekend with us, and thank you for pushing me and being there for me every step of the way!
