Now that school is out and most kids are home for the summer it is very easy for us to get out of our current routine. Especially summer trips to the beach, vacations, and along with all that comes treats. We can easily make the healthy habits become unhealthy; DONT!
Lead by example!
Today was the first day that my sister (8) and her friend watched the Fit Chic ladies in action. I saw them mimicking what we were doing from inside so I told them to create a workout of their own and we would do it together.
When the Fit Chics had finished their workout, the girls came out and did the workout that they created. The Fit Chics led by example and my sister wanted to follow suit!
Our kids are a product of us. Ever heard the term “Monkey see monkey do”? Kids look up to us each day to show them the way. So why not make health and fitness a top priority!
Even with the ladies I train, when they made the decision to become healthier their children naturally wanted to do the same. Workouts were now fun, and eating healthy was just another positive to “feeling good”.
Talking with some of the people who I train, they are realizing that maintaining a healthy lifestyle is not just for them it is being the best parent to their children as well.
One of my clients said today ” I decided to have my children at an older age, I want to stay young and vibrant for them. I want to see their wedding see my grandkids, and be a good example for them day in and day out”.
If you take the approach of living healthier for you, your family, and friends you know have an accountability that comes with that!
We are living in a society where the generation of children are on pace to die before us, we are on pace to have a 50 to 75% obesity rate, all because we are not being the positive examples that we know we could and should be!
Make a change and lead by example! You will be amazed at how many people you will affect around you, and how much better you yourself will feel while you are making a difference in other people’s lives!
